Please join us in this long-overdue special occasion acknowledging Rabbi Rob’s awesome accomplishment of becoming a Reform Rabbi. Services will be conducted by Marty Kahn who has been an integral part of Kauai’s Jewish Community since its inception, including 25 years as its president. Marty has always been a positive influence on our community and was an inspiration for Rabbi Rob in his 7-year journey towards his rabbinate.
Rob Kvidt was ordained in 2019 at Rabbinical Seminary International in New York, which was established by Hassidic Rabbi Joseph Gelberman. His mentors have included Rabbi Bill Kurry zt"l, and Rabbi Aryeh Azriel. Rob has been a member of our Jewish community for nearly 20 years with his husband Jeff.
Rabbi Rob, aka the Kauai Rabbi, is a Jewish lifecycle rabbi and has been a service/workshop leader for Jewish Community of Kauai, and Honolulu’s Temple Emanu-El and Oahu Jewish Ohana. He will be co-leading this year’s High Holy Days with Rabbi Aryeh Azriel. Rabbi Rob is also a certification candidate at the Gamliel Institute specializing in Jewish end-of-life rituals and a board member of the Interfaith Roundtable of Kauai. Rob performs weddings, vow renewals, baby namings, bar/bat mitzvahs, and funerals.
