Virtual Tu B'Shevat Seder Led by Rabbi Ken of Temple Emanu-El

Temple Emanu-El invites the Jewish Community of Kauai to join their virtual Tu B'Shevat Seder Led by Rabbi Ken with special Guest David Henkin of Earthjustice

We traditionally celebrate the Jewish New Year for Trees by tasting fruits and nuts which correspond to the essence of nature. Recently Tu B'shevat has also become a time when we focus on our obligation to be good caretakers of the earth.

This year we will celebrate this holiday with both a virtual Tu B'Shevat Seder and remarks by special guest speaker David Henkin of Earthjustice, a leading nonprofit environmental law organization.

The following items are suggested (not required) to have for a more interactive Tu B’Shevat Seder experience:

White grape juice or wine and red grape juice or wine.

Fruits or nuts with an inedible outer covering and edible inside such as almonds, walnuts, pistachios, pomegranates, citrus or bananas.

Fruits of nuts with an edible outside and inedible pit inside such as dates, olives, plums, peaches, apples, or avocados.

Fruits and nuts that are entirely edible such as berries, figs, or grapes.
